For a while now, I’ve been thinking I should have a logo design for my personal brand. So I was pretty lucky to hook up with Alvin at Logo Design Consultant.
I wasn’t sure how the process would work because I’d never gone through this type of process online before, but I figured I’d give it a shot. And I was delighted.
The logo design began with a request to complete a creative brief form where I answered a comprehensive set of questions about my business criteria — who my market included, special fonts I liked, colors and information to include or avoid, or any other special issues that were important for me to communicate with my logo.
Within a few days, I was presented with six draft logos from which to choose. What a tough decision that was! Since your logo communicates your message to your audience, I needed some feedback. So I presented it to my mastermind group for some frank feedback. And that was totally helpful. I narrowed it down to a couple of design components that I really liked and gave that feedback to the company.
It got turned around immediately and I was presented with six more possible logos that were variations of the design components I liked the most. Again it was a tough decision, but we were getting much closer. These folks are so good, it makes the decision quite tough! So I finally made my decision and I think you’ll like it.

Here’s my new logo. What do you think? What does it say to you?

Having a professional designed custom logo should definitely be taken into serious consideration as it can be very powerful in representing the company profile, the nature of job they do and the attitude of the company. It helps to build the identity of the company and distinguishes your service from your competitors in the industry.
I think your new logo stands out!, although it seems quite blurrish, could use more lightup to it.
Gratz!

Thanks very much for your thoughts. It’s probably a little blurry because of the way it’s sized. It really does look great in person!

Yes, a new (revised) logo is now on my list to get done in the next few weeks. Almost more importantly, I also suggest a new or revised USP or SOB (Statement of Benefit) be done at the same time as the new logo.

You can design a logo and upload for free at Overnight Prints for business cards, letterheads, postcards, and envelopes. Or you can use their online designer to create a logo if you don’t have you own design program such as Photoshop.

Johnny — thank you for taking time to stop by. I don’t recommend small business owners design their own logo (unless they’re graphic designers — and that may not be a good idea either). The message is too important for an amateur to do it.
