It happens to me almost every single day. I receive an email with — some important topic — that says “If you no longer wish to subscribe, please follow these directions to unsubscribe.” The problem? I never subscribed in the first place!!!
This is one of my major pet peeves. I guess I just need to get over it. I’m not talking about spam messages that all include the same fake disclaimer.
These emails are from legitimate companies (um, yes) who are trying to succeed in business. But they’re doing it the wrong way.
You will not win customers and influence people by sending them messages they don’t want — so don’t do it. Heck, I even took my email address off my business card to circumvent nice business people from sending me their important messages.
