Need a New Mobile Phone? Chance to Win HP IPAQ Glisten

Wireless from AT&T

I have HP products all over my office and have been a loyal customer for many years. But I was surprised when I found out that HP also makes a mobile phone. Did you know that?

Yep. Their phone is the HP IPAQ Glistenoffered by ATT. And it is really cool. I was given the opportunity to test one out for the next couple of weeks and I’m impressed.

But what is most cool about this phone is that you have a chance to win one — just follow the simple rules below to enter.

This Glisten is a really cool phone. Did I already say that?

It’s a sleek, professional workhorse. Which means that for busy business owners like you, it may just be the ticket. I’ve been working it out by using the phone, taking pictures, sending emails and using the ATT Navigator GPS and it just never seems to run out of battery power. I’ve had a smart phone for a while now and mine seems to eat up batteries like a piranha (I always carry two!). But not this phone. That is a major plus.

I’ll admit that when I opened the box, I just wasn’t sure this would work for me. The phone felt heavy compared to my current touch screen phone and seemed wide. But it’s not. It was all in my head. :) It took me a very short time to get acclimated to the feel of the phone. And the QWERTY keyboard is a breeze to use.

There are some helpful hot keys that can get you to your apps — like email, the internet, your calendar and GPS — in a second. For other programs, there’s a Windows hot key that takes you to a whole list of programs available very easily.

Plus I really like the fact that the casing isn’t a fingerprint magnet, you can use voice commands for a lot of the functions, and it’s a touch screen too.

If you are looking for a smart phone that will fit the 24 / 7 lifestyle of a small business owner, you can’t go wrong with the HP IPAQ Glisten..

It’s only available on the AT&T network (a new experience for me too!), but given my experience they would be a good choice. The base price of the phone is $380, but you can currently get it through AT&T for $180 with a 2 year contract.

Or you can enter the contest below and take your chances! :)

Note: The contest closed on 3/15/10. And the winner is…

Note: I was provided a complimentary phone and service to conduct this product review. I am also an affiliate of AT&T. This arrangement does not change my opinion of the phone. It ROCKS!

I <3 HP! But, I'm a T-Mobile user so I'm going to go pout in a corner now since I can't use this sexy phone.

  5. Ruth Sande says:

The Glisten smartphone sounds like an answer to my prayers. It would certainly help organize my mailing lists and phone contacts so I don’t confuse my business entries with my non-business entries. It will provide the structure I really need. I like the idea of the voice commands which will come in very handy when driving! If I win this phone I will heartily recomend it to both my personal and business contacts.

  6. mary mah says:

I could really use this phone for the blue tooth, a new law started banning cellphone use while driving, my current phone doesn’t have blue tooth so I am unable to use hands free system.

I need a new phone as my 3 year old phone is falling apart! I’ve been looking around but with not much luck.

  9. Fokxxy says:

The Glisten Smart phone would make my life mucho better!! My phone now is possessed by phone demons. The screen flashes constantly . Sometimes I open a text message and it puts all the words sideways, or upside down or backwards. Sometimes it adds red, yellow and blue to the screen in mass waves and stretches out letters and numbers to an unreadable form. Demons I tells ya!! So this new phone would be demonless and I would love it muchly! :) So essentially the Glisten Smart phone would make my life easier by ridding my life of the demons that currently possess my new phone!!

  11. They have been having the smart phones for some time, actually the name IpaQ was from Compaq the company that was bought out by Hp. This model is a great improvement on design from the early versions.

I’d give the phone to my husband, he is a government contractor, so he’s always on the go. He’d be able to carry all his info in one place, so it’d be convient for him.

  17. Mehul Vadher says:

I would be able to check work emails on the go, would make it easy for work and work efficiently as well. Moreover, features such as GPS would be a useful add-on.

    Thanks

  18. Heather P says:

Having the GPS on my phone will make it easier to find places (i get lost a lot) and checking my email from anywhere would make things so much easier!

This IPAQ phone would make life much easier for me. I am considering switching away from by Blackberry – but I am not ready to give up the QWERTY keyboard. I think the easy access with quick keys would make responding to client requests faster whether I am on the road or in the office – making much of my operation virtually seamless.

  20. Burcu says:

Glisten smartphone will make my work life better by saving me time and letting me access to my e-mail account which is very important for me.

  21. Kasey says:

It would provide ease for my father; that’s who I am entering for. He’s really disorganized and unsure of where to be half the time and is in clear need of a phone; a real phone. Not something that seems as if it it’s about to fall apart and looks as if it came from 1987.

The Glisten smartphone would make my work life better because the QWERTY keyboard sounds easier to type of than my old clunker of a phone, and because it has a built-in GPS and calendar I can be on time and not lost or running late! Thanks for the chance!

  29. I am a ghost-writer and community manager for a high-profile blogger. I find that I am traveling a LOT over the past several months. My current phone is a “plain jane” phone that only does calling and texting. I honestly NEED to be able to connect to email and web when I am traveling, but don’t have the extra funds at this time to buy the hottest new products. Having a phone such as this HP would make a HUGE difference in helping me stay connected and increasing my productivity for work!

  30. Mike S. says:

Touch with a qwerty keyboard! This is the best of both worlds!

Having GPS, music and email all in one device would give me free time away from my computer!

I’d be out of the house more and still be able to communicate with my friends and family!

  31. @wheredidyou says:

I’d like to replace my phone. It has too little memory.

  32. shayjay74 says:

Having this phone would be a new lease on life for me being recently released from prison and starting my own construction company. I could use this phone as my mobile office and do estimate and invoices not to mention I would save by not having to pay a secretary.

  33. simplydab says:

Having a great all-in-one device would allow me to manage my time so much better – I could check email while waiting @ the doctor’s office, use the bluetooth while driving, GPS for those times when I get lost (more often than I care to admit!), QWERTY keyboard makes sending text/emails a snap, streaming radio for those times I need to block out the world, and integrated Wi-Fi? *swoon*

I’m already an AT&T subscriber so I wouldn’t have any problems activating (and using!!) this phone should I win :)

I love HP products. I have the iPaq 910c and love it. I can’t wait for this one too. It looks sleeker and over all an improvement on something already great. More people should try these HP phones. This Glisten would make my life better with the Windows Mobile 6.5 upgrade. It opens up more of the Microsoft office products than ever before. Got to get my hands on this!

My computer is a dinosaur. In other words I am technically challenged by lack of updated equipment. I can’t do many things such as watch videos, go on many sites that have more advanced stuff than my computer will do. So a smart phone would allow me to catch up to the rest of the world. What a differnce for me! I cannot imagine how well connected I can be without the stress of waiting for ages for waiting for pages to load. It would be a whole new world!!!

As an information professional still masquerating as a master’s student, I function in high-powered environments as an intern, and yet I can’t afford a smart phone! How am I supposed to keep up with the other folks–I develop smart phone apps and I don’t even have one!
