If You’re Sick of Online Hype, Check Out the Third Tribe

I’ve been online for a long time — since 1996 when I first started my business. And I’ve seen a lot of changes. Some good, some not so good. But one thing I’ve never gotten used to was the “standard” sales page hype. It turns my stomach.

You know what I’m talking about:

THE BIG RED HEADLINES IN ALL CAPS
followed by tons of yellow highlighting
and a few testimonials (from the same people over and over!)

A disaster can strand small business owners away from their business. The volcano in Iceland that grounded thousands of plane flights across Europe made me wonder how many small business owners were in panic mode because they couldn’t get back to their businesses and keep the doors open.
